Flooding Emergency Update 7
May 14, 2019 2:00 pm
Municipal Boat Launch Closures remain in effect for Sturgeon Falls, Cache Bay, Verner and Lavigne. With the long weekend approaching, we understand this may be inconvenient for some, but these closures are necessary to protect shoreline properties. The Emergency Control Group will continue to monitor conditions and will reassess boat launch access before Friday. We will advise residents should conditions change.
Current Municipal Boat Launch Closures:
- Marina Minnehaha Bay
- Sturgeon River House Museum
- Holditch Street in Sturgeon Falls
- Cache Bay (Both Municipal Launches)
- St-Jean Municipal Launch
- Lavigne Municipal Launch
There are no changes to road conditions to report and this time and road closures remain in effect. Residents are reminded to keep children and pets away from fast-moving waterways. Boaters are urged to stay away from affected areas.
Emergency Services and Operations Crews continue to patrol and assess conditions daily. We will provide updates as new information becomes available.
For any flood related concerns or inquiries, contact the Municipality at 705.753.1171.
