West Nipissing Appreciates Clean Water and Wastewater Fund

The Clean Water and Wastewater Fund (CWWF) has subsidised numerous water infrastructure projects in the Municipality of West Nipissing. The upgrades described below support our prevention and sustainability goals, and allow us to continue providing safe and reliable water services to many residents. The Municipality is appreciative of the CWWF's contributions.


PROJECTS  

Structural Upgrade to Wastewater Forcemain at Holditch Street Extension – WNIP-002

  • Received $150,000 in federal funding and $75,000 in provincial funding
  • The Municipality’s portion of the $350,000 project is 35%

Replacement of Main Street Watermains – WNIP-004

  • Received $25,000 in federal funding and $12,500 in provincial funding
  • The Municipality’s portion of the $50,000 project is 25%

Replacement and Extension of Ramsay Street Watermain – WNIP-005

  • Received $25,000 in federal funding and $12,500 in provincial funding
  • The Municipality’s portion of the $50,000 project is 25%

Structural Upgrade of Sand Hill Area Water Services – WNIP-006

  • Received $125,000 in federal funding and $62,500 in provincial funding
  • The Municipality’s portion of the $250,000 project is 25%

Upgrade of Manholes Throughout Sturgeon Falls – WNIP-009

  • Received $124,375 in federal funding and $62,187 in provincial funding
  • The Municipality’s portion of the $250,000 project is approximately 25%
  • The upgrade was successfully completed in 2018

 


The CWWF funds community capital projects that address immediate drinking water, wastewater and stormwater needs fostering economic growth and supporting a cleaner and healthier environment for communities.

The objectives of the CWWF are to:

  • Improve reliability of drinking water, wastewater and stormwater systems and meet legislated standards and guidelines;
  • Rehabilitate and modernize Ontario’s aging infrastructure; and
  • Accelerate short-term community infrastructure investments across Ontario.
